Sampson the Fool

There once was a prince named Sampson. He was a strong and beautiful Akita, who roamed the palace of a mighty king. Sampson was fortunate that his owner was wealthy and granted him an abundance of space, along with a surplus of food. He was free to wander, play and sleep wherever he wished.  Sampson gave lots of love and was most often obedient, yet he had a temperament and was very territorial of his space.

He continuously bit and harassed strangers that came into the palace, and it was clear his vicious tendencies disallowed him to be around visitors. Sampson's heckling would constantly hurt people's feelings..and then he'd bite them. This forced the king to box Sampson off in a room every time anyone came over. Since the dog chose to not behave around guests, he was shunned and treated as a beast.

One day the king met a beautiful woman and chose to start a family. With the king's heart overfilled with love, he also invited his brides family and their families to come live with him in their enormous estate. Soon the palace was filled with people, and it was hard to find a room that was empty. Sampson, lacking the ability to coexist with new humans, was forced to leave the palace and spend the rest of his days in the wilderness, alone and hungry.

Moral: Be someone others want to be around
