The donkey and the horse

The donkey and the horse

There was a master who had a donkey who he cherished for many, many, many years. The donkey helped the master carry his cargo from the farm to the town but the donkey began to get old. The master wanted something new and young, so the master bought a horse. The horse was faster than the donkey and was able to help the master with his chores. The horse said to the donkey, “Look at you now, you are too old and now I am the master’s favorite”. The donkey replied and said,”I have plenty of time now to rest and build my strength”, and the horse chuckled and said to him, “You will never be able to be as strong as me even if you rest a thousand years.” One day the master and the horse were going into the town, and the horse slipped and fell and broke his leg. When the master returned back home with the horse, the donkey went to the horse and said, “Who is the master’s favorite now?”

Moral: You should never underestimate a person’s ability to do something.
